Biography
In my experience, design is often interdisciplinary, and so solutions can be found in other contexts. The key to unfolding the truth in a design problem is seeking the right intersections that exist between, often opposing, ideas. I believe in order to truly see a problem you have to experience it in context, and so my task as a designer becomes trying to experience the world in a way that allows me to understand the problems we face.
My design philosophy is about drawing on real life experience to help solve design problems. I am searching for a design discipline that focuses not on the consumer, but on the citizen. Beyond the concept of corporations and profit, I believe design should be grassroots and where ever I practice design I feel the community and the environment should be not only considered, but actively involved in the design process.
