Nate Smith

My name is Nate Smith and for as long as I can remember I’ve been interested in art. I specialize in a hand drawn pen and ink look with a capitalization on fine line work and human figures.

The vast majority of my work is black and white, though I have done color before. I don't see many people doing work in an old pen and ink style so I decided pretty early on to make that my labor of love. Currently, I am illustrating a series on Sir Ernest Shackleton's expedition across the Antarctic in 1914 and it is pushing me to my limits, but the work I've done over the last few years has included bands, apparel companies and a few smaller writers.

I specialize in a hand drawn pen and ink look with a capitalization on fine line work and human figures and a lot of the work I do combines vignette realism with either text or semi-abstract flourishes. Ill start with a lyric or abstract construct and work out a way to embody it in an image.
