We’ve been fans of designer and illustrator Alex Pasquarella for a long time now. Alex’s work is, clean, colorful, and systematic—so we are thrilled to get a glimpse into the kind of illustration that inspires him on a daily basis. If you couldn’t already tell, Alex is heavily inspired by landscapes and illustrative interpretations of them. Check out his nine favorite landscape illustrations and hear why he digs them:
“I’m Alex Pasquarella, an illustrator and designer based in Rochester, New York. My talented friend Matt Anderson and I own a studio here called Canopy.
“It’s easy to tell by looking at my own portfolio, but I really love landscapes. Forests, mountains, waterfalls, you name it. They often convey tranquility, which is a welcome feeling given the busyness of our careers and day-to-day lives. For me, illustrating landscapes, forests, etc. is in itself a calming exercise, and finding inspiration is absolutely part of that experience.
“These nine shots very much reflect my love for landscape art. I find that exploring the intricacies of the higher-detail pieces is just as rewarding as admiring the simplicity and conciseness of the more abstract treatments. I thank these artists and studios for consistently inspiring me.
