We’re always blown away by the amount of designers that turn up to meet face-to-face for Dribbble Meetups every month, and June 2018 was no different. A staggering number of nearly 1400 designers attended 11 meetups in 7 countries around the world in June. Party on Dribbblers!
It’s not too late to join a Dribbble Meetup near you in July in places like Salt Lake City, Indianapolis, San Francisco, Manchester, and Mexico City, and more. Or, perhaps you’re ready to host your own Dribbble Meetup and help grow the community in your area!
Check out these awesome recaps of June Dribbble Meetups:
Moscow, Russia @ Skylight Business Center
“The seventh Dribbble Meetup in Moscow has finally grown to a massive product design conference. We had 1000 attendees at the venue, 20,000 online stream viewers, and 150 afterparty goers. We decked-out the venue, printed a thousand t-shirts, brewed almost a thousand bottles of beer, and had two food trucks serving our guests. Speakers included people from Norde, Phase, Setka, BEM Design, RealtimeBoard, Rambler & Co, Alfa Bank, Mail.Ru, Future London Academy, and Dmitry & Leta Stolz.
The after party speakers were S7, MentorForces, Taras Brizitsky, Ilya Sidorenko. It was massive as always and we have huge plans for the next year on date is June, 29th, 2019.”
Cape Town, South Africa @ Workshop 17, The Watershed
“In June, the Cape Town Dribbble Community held its 9th meetup in the Mother City with an attendance of more than one hundred creatives.
From the Meetup shot design by Gregory Darroll, to the speakers, to the Analog Playoff—this has got to be one of our favorite meetups yet! We enjoyed two great talks: “Inclusive Design: More Heart, More Humans,” and “One Fold at a Time.” The second speaker, Ross Symons, made an inspirational living as an origami artist! We couldn’t miss the opportunity to have an origami challenge for our playoff. What a hit it was!
Check out more photos of the event on our Facebook page and keep an eye on Dribbble Meetups for the big number 10 coming up later this year!”
San José, Costa Rica @ MADC
“The third Dribbble Meetup San José took place once again at the MADC (Museum of Contemporary Art and Design)—this time bigger and better than ever!
The overall theme for the talks was “sharing knowledge” and for that, we had four amazing talents talking about their personal experiences and points of view. We had GoDaddy’s Executive Creative Director, Casey Sherstobitoff, and the amazing Yuls Walters, UX Director at Huli Health. Andrei Bonilla, Creative Director at Sweetrush, also spoke, and Paula Díaz, the mind behind Tipoteca.
We also had the pleasure to have the visit of Pablo Stanley how gave us a design workshop and an Invision Studio demo in the beautiful co-working space Selina San José, and had a workshop with Changos Inc.—a power couple with super creative powers.
Our Dribbble Meetups are getting better, bigger, and stronger. We’re super proud of this year’s edition. Thank you as well to the marvelous work of Daniela de Sainz, who created a beautiful image for this event. Stay tuned for more!”
São Paulo, Brazil @ Evino
“This was the first meetup that we’ve organized and the event went better than we expected. About forty Designers get together to discuss design in every strand (product, personal and service).
Luis-Daniel Alegria and I started the event by talking about the whole experience of been invited by Apple and Adyen to be one of the selected apps to release the Apple Pay and Samsung Pay in Brazil. Glaúber Sampaio, Designer at Work&Co Brazil and founder at Creative Doc—an online magazine where designers can talk more than just design—gave us some guidelines of discipline and posture as a designer. Also, Cláudia Niemeyer that is Group Director at Fjord shared all her experience working with Design Service for global companies. And in the meanwhile, all the players could taste some excellent wines that we sell in our online shop.
Hillsborough, New Jersey @ JK Design
“JK Design, a full-service creative agency, kicked off its first Dribbble Meetup earlier this month. Attendees spent the evening networking with local creatives—including Joe Jordan, creative director at JK—who shared from his 20+ years of experience in UX and UI, motion graphics, and branding design.
Since founding JK Design in 1985, Jerry Kaulius has always valued and supported local creative talent. Yearly, JK awards scholarships to graduating seniors at Hillsborough High School for exceptional work in graphic design and video and film.
Another meetup will be hosted by JK before the end of the summer! They are a great way of connecting talented creatives in the tri-state area to share ideas and learn from one another. Stay tuned for details!”
Sofia, Bulgaria @ Betahaus
“It’s been a while since we had our last Dribbble Meetup, so this edition was a long-expected one and ended up as a great success! We decided to add a theme this time and dedicated this event to our illustrators. More than 60 people from the community showed up. Our speakers shared their experience in creating a personal brand, building illustration identity and using mixed techniques to stand out with a unique style. Along with the networking part of the evening, we had an illustration challenge which resulted in fun and abstract drawings, some of which were rewarded.
Shoutout to Betahaus Sofia for hosting us and our sponsors Sketch, Marvel, and of course Dribbble. We’ll be meeting again in September, so stay tuned!”
Syracuse, New York @ The Sweet Praxis
“Thank You, Dribbble Team! The event was great!
The local AIGA Syracuse crew met up at our favorite little downtown bakery, The Sweet Praxis, for a Dribbble Meetup and with this month being special we riffed off of the show-and-tell sentiment of Dribbble. We had a great round table presentation of current projects, critique, and Q+A. We had notebooks as giveaways that were a great reward for the brave folks who shared first, and everyone loved the Dribbble swag. It’s always great to present work and hear feedback from your peers, and learn little tips and tricks from seasoned pros!
Thanks for supporting the Design Community!”
Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina @ Mistral Technologies
“The very first Sarajevo Dribbble Meetup was held on June 21st in the offices of one of the top software development companies in Sarajevo: Mistral.. The event was organized in partnership with the Sarajevo Designs community, and was heartily supported by Mistral.
Over 70 designers gathered under Mistral’s roof to hear Vildana Lojo talk about creating design systems, and Aleksandar Savic talk about illustrations and portfolio-building on Dribbble. After the presentations, some participants joined in on Analog Dribbble Playoffs, while others discussed design over delicious snacks, cold beverages, and cakes. The limited edition Dribbble and Mistral T-shirts were given to the best Analog Playoff entries.
It was a great and creative night for many Sarajevo designers and Dribbblers!”
