Who are you?
Hey I’m Tyler Gross: freelance illustrator and graphic artist. I hail from St. Louis, Missouri but am currently living and working in a spare bedroom at my aunt’s house in San Diego.
What are you working on?
Right now I’m working on a skateboard graphic for CCS, finishing up an illustration for Delta Airlines, doing a tour poster for a national band and looking at surf boards on Craigslist.
Choose a favorite shot of yours. Why is it a favorite?
I like this shot because it represents a more experimental approach for me. Change is good. Plus, I like Mondays.
Tell us about your setup. What tools did you use to create the shot (e.g. hardware, software, pens, paper, blowtorch)?
Lately, I’ve been doing almost completely digital work. This shot is made with a lil Adobe Illustrator and lil Adobe Photoshop. I do use scanned textures in most of my work as well. I always have a sketchbook handy for developing ideas and working through visual problems. Duh.
Choose a favorite shot from another Player. Why do you dig it?
Brian is rad.
