November Dribbble Meetup Wrap‑Up

November saw 11 Dribbble Meetups in 6 countries. Over 500 of you attended during the busy holiday season. Nice job Dribbblers!

There are only a few more Dribbble Meetups left in December, but January is already filling up—check out upcoming Dribbble Meetups or think about starting your own!

Cambridge, MA @ Hubspot

HubSpot hosted a fun Dribbble Meetup at the Cambridge HQ. Since Cambridge isn’t too far from Salem, Dan, Rich, and Adam attended the meetup and hosted an Analog Playoff for the books! Kerry Donohue won with her Shark-Giraffe creation—sketch above. Want to know how that creature moves? She’s got you covered—presenting the Shark-Giraffe gif! And an awesome runner up—the Sassysquatch by Jasmine Carter.

The ATX Dribbble crew celebrated their 25th meetup at the Afterhours ATX poster show. Attendees mingled amidst incredible food-themed artwork by 30 designers. Prints were sold over course of the show with a portion of the proceeds to the artists, and a portion going to this year’s non-profit, The Capital Area Food Bank of Texas. Ready more about Afterhours on Medium.

To celebrate the 25th Dribbble Meetup, Funsize and @ATXDribbble hosted a fun activity—draw what Austin means to you—for a special upcoming surprise. Clearhead sponsored the event by providing drinks and plenty of swag.

Salem, MA @ PEM: What’s Your Type? with Monotype

In November, we teamed up with our friends at Monotype for the PEM/PM What’s Your Type? event at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA. It was an evening of type-tastic fun that included activities like a type trivia challenge, sipping on type-themed cocktails, watching a live chalk and sign painting demo by Boston artist Catherine Owens, and a Dribbble Analog Playoff.

San Francisco @ Highlight HQ

“We had a successful Dribbble Meetup at Highlight HQ, our second event so far. There was an amazing turnout-close to 150 attendees stopped by throughout the night, and those who got there early enough got to take home some sweet custom pint glasses we made! All in all, there was a diverse group of designers that were able to come, make new friends, and share their experiences and we can’t wait for the next one.”

Seattle, WA @ Moz

“We had a great Seattle Dribbble Meetup at Moz. We had around 75-80 designers attend—despite the crazy rain storm that evening! Derric Wise gave his presentation on “How to Not Kill Your Brand.” We also had massive amounts of swag and pizza, a ping pong tournament, and an amazing Analog Playoff.”

Dallas, TX @ Barcadia

“We had a great time at the Dallas Dribbble Meetup. We had a lot of first timers show up, and I have kept in touch and at least 3 of the attendees have made their first (and subsequent) shots since then. We even had one Prospect who had only been in Dallas a very short time—originally from Japan!”

Minneapolis, MN (MSP) @ Bad Weather Brewery Co.

“We had quite the great time with this second Minnesota Dribbble Meetup. We had a smaller turn-out (about 15 people) but the conversations and brews were flowing! Huge shout-out to Bad Weather Brewery Co. in St. Paul for allowing us to host our event and they were even kind enough to give us a tour of their facilities! Overall, another successful Dribbble Meetup and the planning of the next one has already begun!”

Tokyo and Berlin @ Goodpatch Offices

  1. dribbble meetup hosted by Goodpatch

“On Saturday, November 28th, we hosted our first Dribbble Meetups at both the Tokyo and Berlin Goodpatch studios. It was also the very first time for the Dribbble community to have the such meetup going on simultaneously in two different countries–connected live through Google Hangout. We were able to have quite an interesting meetup, which included a one-hour shot contest with a group of brilliant designers.”

Read more about the meetup in the Recap on the MemoPatch Blog. You can also go back and read about the design scenes in Tokyo and Berlin in Pep Rally.
