Who are you?

I am a french graphic designer. I specialise in editorial design but lately I have been exploring hand lettering and am having so much fun with it! I grew up in Paris, France but went to college in New York City at Parsons the new school for design. After living in the city for 5 years I moved back home and I am now a full time graphic designer for Vanity Fair France, which I helped launch in 2013.

What are you working on?

Right now I’m pretty busy with my full time job but I am finding time for some holiday card lettering of course. I am also in the process of re-designing my website and trying to organise my work better to create an online store and eventually sell some of my pieces.

Choose a favorite shot of yours. Why is it a favorite?

This is easily one of my favorite shots because it was so fun to create. It’s part of a bigger piece I sketched out but haven’t had time to finish yet. I made this at a time where I was exploring new things and trying to integrate more illustration into my hand lettering pieces. I love getting off the computer and coloring using paint pens and color pencils—I believe it gives the work so much more life and detail.

Tell us about your setup. What tools did you use to create the shot (e.g. hardware, software, pens, paper, blowtorch)?

My workspace right now is not glamorous, haha. I don’t have a desk at the moment and often find myself working on the floor or my bed. I primarily use criterium pencils, Tombow pens, Posca paint pens and so many others—my pencil case easily weighs about a pound. I use a Huon light table I got this summer, a gadget which has literally changed my life. I use a very basic hp scanner and photoshop + illustrator CC for editing.

Choose a favorite shot from another Player. Why do you dig it?

I love Maite’s work so much. All her shots are amazing. I actually discovered her on Behance and suggested her work to my art directors for Vanity Fair France. I’m glad I did because she has created some gorgeous things for us since! I love her style, flat but 3D at the same time and always an impeccable use of colours and textures.
