My heart brims with happiness when I encounter the delicate alpine wildflowers that decorate the hillside with splashes of color around every corner. I’m filled with an equal amount of joy when I sit down in my studio and explore the beautiful patterns of a bird’s feathers through paint on paper, or preserve the summer garden abundance through a sketch or illustration. Ever since I moved to the Pacific Northwest in my early 20s and discovered my love of the outdoors, I’ve felt a deep connection to the land and ocean that surround me. This connection has formed my identity as an adult and influenced my lifestyle and career choice. Since then, I haven’t stopped creating art and illustrations documenting the flora and fauna I encounter on my wilderness trips.
