Koi Kawa - Print Collateral

Koi Kawa is a sushi restaurant on the San Antonio River that prides itself in original and authentic sushi rolls. This sushi chef and owner needed an authentic brand to emphasize its position in the San Antonio sushi market and refreshing river view. The colors and lightness reflect the bright atmosphere, water, and color of a koi fish while the illustration keeps to a traditional aesthetic.

In the print collateral, I felt that it was important to keep things light, versus the typical, dark luxury feeling that nearby competitors were pursuing. This includes hand-drawn imagery, an off-white textured paper, and a clean grid to view the many menu items that the restaurant offers. As a young owner has recently adopted this restaurant near a university I wanted to let the brightness invite locals into the hidden gem that is Koi Kawa.
