29 - The Big Sick

I first heard the story of Emily and Kumail’s early relationship on “You Made it Weird” earlier this year, and was very excited to see the they created movie based on it. The Big Sick is such an endearing, heartfelt, timely, and authentic film that I really can’t recommend it highly enough. I think they did an excellent job providing a ton of depth to a romantic comedy and dealt with topics like identity and family in a really unique and modern light that truly sticks with you.
Maybe I’m biased because of all the X-Files references and that it took place in Chicago though?
