Shamir Dawood

I’m a self-taught Product Designer / UXUI designer with over ten years of industry experience crafting impactful products for users that they can really enjoy while they use them.

Growing up in Colombo, Sri Lanka, I’ve always had a passion for the arts, freehand drawing, and graphics. This helped me to get my first job as a trainee graphic and web designer back in 2011. Working with tools such as Photoshop and Dreamweaver back in the day made me realize that I had identified a unique set of skills, and that was the turning point of my digital product design career.

While working in industries such as Health Care, Recruitment, Logistics, Radio Broadcasting, HCM, and RCM, I realized the potential of being a UX/UI designer, which helped me gain in-depth experience in skills such as identifying real-world problems, research and analysis, and ideating solutions to meet user goals and needs.

A decade later, I reflect on how much research, design, and collaboration I was able to do while creating experience.
