I am a UX/UI Designer with great interests in product design. For me satisfying UX and beautiful UI is closely connected and both branches are very dear to me. In a design process I first and foremost secure what a user needs to have a good user experience:

What does a user want to do?
This is the specific task or tasks that a user want to perform. I.e. buy tickets, register working hours, contact support etc.

How does a user want to feel while doing it?
Or what a user wants to be. These are connected to the feeling a user wants to achieve while performing the task. Is the task about sharing personal information with authorities a user want to feel safe. Is the task about registering working hours a user want to feel (and be) quick.

On top of that I love making the product pretty. Making the user interface intuitive and easy to use and at the same time making it a pleasure to look at is a great satisfaction. Working with hierarchies, shapes, colors, and contrasts is characterizing my products.
