Micah Jay Pfeiffer

I am a Communication Design student at Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design with an expected graduation date of spring 2023. I have a passion for print media, focusing on non-traditional layout, exploring tension points, while also playing with visual noise in finished work. Additionally, I have been exploring digital collage in static and motion graphics.

I draw much of my influence from urban decay and how decay effects traditionally sound structures. I love abandoned buildings, broken sidewalks, weather-beaten signs, graffiti, and rust, each playing an integral role in the art of nature over man. I have found that much of my influence comes from the struggle between traditional design order and how that order would be effected by erosion and decay. How would these elements effect placement, presentation, and legibility? What is most visually appealing, a crisp and clean sign, or a ghost of what was once there?

This is my passion. This is my journey. This is what I love to produce in my personal work.
