Founding UX Designer
Job Title: Senior UX Designer (Founding Role) – Stealth Mode Startup
Location: San Francisco, CA (In-office position)
Compensation:
Base Salary: $150k - $200k
Equity Package: Competitive and commensurate with the company's stage
About the Company: A stealth-mode startup based in San Francisco, led by founders with a proven track record of multiple successful exits in B2B SaaS. This is a unique opportunity to join a company at an early stage, where your impact will be felt across the entire product and business. We’re looking for a Senior UX Designer who is ready to build from 0-1, thrives in an autonomous environment, and is passionate about creating something from the ground up.
Role Overview: As the Founding UX Designer, you will be a core part of the founding team, reporting directly to the founders. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the product’s design language, systems, and user experience from scratch. This is a role for a highly entrepreneurial designer who can balance creativity with practical execution and thrives in fast-paced, startup environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the entire UX design process from concept to execution, crafting intuitive and visually compelling user experiences.
Collaborate closely with the founders to translate strategic vision into user-centered design solutions.
Develop and implement design systems that are scalable and adaptable to future product evolution.
Work autonomously and take ownership of the product’s user experience, ensuring it aligns with both business objectives and user needs.
Bring a 0-1 mindset, driving the creation of a product from its earliest stage, with the ability to iterate and improve based on feedback.
Contribute to the overall product strategy, using your expertise to influence key product decisions.
Be a thought leader in UX best practices, incorporating AI and B2B experience where relevant to create a cutting-edge and intuitive user experience.
Must Haves:
Location: Must be located in the Bay Area and able to work in-office.
Portfolio: A strong and established design portfolio showcasing a range of UX design projects, with an emphasis on 0-1 work and building B2B or B2C products from the ground up.
Experience: Proven experience working in AI or B2B environments is required.
Design Systems: Expertise in creating and maintaining design systems.
Autonomous: Ability to work independently, take initiative, and lead the design process.
Curiosity & Empathy: A strong sense of curiosity, empathy, and the ability to create intuitive user experiences that resonate with users.
Preferred:
Startup Experience: Experience working in small companies or startups is a huge plus.
Entrepreneurial spirit with the desire to make a significant impact in a fast-paced environment.
