Biography
My name is Tomek Nowak. I live in the charming city of Gdansk, Poland. My main focus is on design for web apps (PWAs, desktop apps) and native iOS/Android apps. I believe that quality products should have a fantastic user experience (UX). I breathe in Material Design, Apple Design guidelines, and design systems.
I had the pleasure to work for brands such as Harvard Medical School, Booking.com, Japan Rail Pass, DealDash, Smart Token Labs, and many other small and large organizations. One of the critical lessons I’ve learned is to fall in love with problems, not the solutions.
Recently I’ve built one of the largest travel web apps in Poland with 5M unique users (Travelbay). It was a self-funded startup and the best business lesson I had. I went through a whole spectrum of running a startup. From fundraising to full product design and development. I made tons of mistakes. A wise man once said: "The online real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing".
