Biography
My name is Alexa Thompson and I am an interdisciplinary designer & illustrator. I’m based in Silver Spring, Maryland, near Washington D.C. The city holds a dear place in my heart — one of my favorite activities growing up was visiting the array of art museums in D.C. in the summertime.
I believe that all types of designers should strive to create with abandon. To do something with abandon is to release all inhibitions or limitations that hold you back. To me, creating with abandon means consuming all the inspiration one can, honing one’s craft with a passion, and always pushing the boundaries of one’s work.
In my work I enjoy combining my two passions, art and design. Many of my professional projects incorporate illustrative elements and dynamic compositions. Amongst my personal projects, poster designs are my favorite to create as they seamlessly integrate both illustration and typography!
