I would watch my beautiful mother would sit in the sunlight and draw caricatures and paint while watching Bob Ross. I would sit with her, pencil in hand while I emulated her meticulous strokes. I was in the first grade when I won a trophy for an Earth Day poster that I illustrated. It was then that I felt something spark within myself. Since that moment, I have passionately created visual art, mostly for my own amusement.
While I took a more traditional route to success by pursuing a career in social work, visual art remained my way of taking care of myself, showing my love for others and spreading awareness of social causes. I have recently decided to reopen the doors of creating art for income, something that I have not done steadily since college. In college I created hand drawn and painted posters for events hosted on campus. About 4 years ago I began to incorporate digital art into my career by creating prints and flyers for events and community outreach.
