Girl and the Deep Blue Sea is the creation of Brisbane artist Anna Markula. Anna creates unique tropical and ocean-inspired patterns and illustrations.
Previously an ecologist, Anna decided to pursue a more creative career after having her daughter. Anna now loves to bring fun and beauty to the world through her art.
Anna’s favourite place to be is outdoors, ideally at the beach or snorkelling a coral reef. Her artwork uses a variety of mediums and is influenced by abstract details in nature, amazing wildlife, bold bright colours, fun dance music, and anything sparkly!
Anna's work has been featured on swimwear, fashion and art projects.
