Biography
My name is BeNjamyn Upshaw-Ruffner. I am currently an honors philosophy student with a minor in professional writing, studying at Concordia University in Montreal Canada. Some of my passions include media literacy, critical theory, phenomenology, and A.I. artwork!
I have also been a creative writer for years, gradually honing my artistic craft. My poetry and short stories have explored themes of ambiguity, identity, and introspection. My writing has been published in Vanier College's The Insider, Concordia University's The Link, Scribbles Magazine, and Plumose, which an online platform for BIPOC stories. I was also the Editor-in-Chief of The Insider for a time, and I'm always looking for new and exciting avenues to share my work.
As a queer artist of colour, I champion diversity and inclusion. I am often outspoken about the importance of representation, both within and behind our media landscape.
I have discovered how to direct a neural network to create A.I. artwork to share my creativity with the world!
