Challenges
We were not able to roll out all the new stuff at once. Due to technical complexity, we had to leave out the in-folder edit actions or automatic uploading settings.

A major challenge was the “data consistency check”. Which photos have been successfully uploaded? Can I safely delete these from my phone now? What if I lose connection in the middle of upload? Solving these in design was much easier than in code.

Next steps
The app is now ready for internal testing on Android and feature-wise is ready for the external users. More design improvements will be added iteratively and the iOS version under development.

So far, my biggest mistake was to adhere to the app’s previous version and design it in the dark mode.
