The main function of a home page in an application is to show what the application is capable of. It is a very obvious answer but in most of the circumstances, a designer will tend to overdesign and clutter the page with information in the first round of design.

We always heart that great design requires numerous iteration according to the real-life use cases. In the very beginning, most of the design will fail, no matter you are an in house designer or a rockstar team in a design agency. This is because sometimes the product owner cannot even tell precisely what they really need. That means both parties need to go through a lot of conversation base on the actual design.

In the case of GCFX, the goal of the home page is simple – to show the exchange rate for different currency pairs and a call-to-action button for money transfer. The rest of the elements are just for auxiliary purposes. As such the rest of the space can be used for brand-related elements to make the design special and differentiable.
