Adora Poetry Book Cover

Back in 2017, I was asked to design a cover by Loudmouth Collective, a spoken word / poetry group in the Philippines, for a poetry zine with the name of Adora - short for Adorable.

The things that I had to keep in mind was we'd be printing the cover on craft paper and would only use black ink - Thus, I came up with a design that only used black and grey fills.

Since this is a poetry magazine, the cover need not be too logical, I thought. So I created this illustration inspired from Alice in Wonderland's Mad Hatter Tea Party concept - I mixed together fancy things like teacups, flowers, cats, and dark tea. :)
