A little big of motivation for this Friday and a lot of calligraphy practice.
Stay with me here but I’m going to stretch this into a metaphor.
Practice isn’t always just doing. But knowing the details of what you are trying to achieve. This type of script has extended trailing lines, large loops, thicker downstrokes and thinner upstrokes, variance in the line height…to name a few things.
On the outside I’m just writing, but internally I’m focused on the details. No one else may look specifically at those details, but those details decide whether the piece is “interesting to the eye” or not.
So whether you know it or not, everything matters. I’m sure that relates to a few of you.
