Ryan Putnam Helped me to figure out how to change the pattern fill from its default grey color (which I had only managed to turn white using the lighten blending mode) to any color needed. I settled on this darker orange. How Ryan explained it: "There is a way to change it but it is not that intuitive. To change the color, drag the Pattern Swatch from the Swatches panel onto your document, basically expanding the texture. Now change the color of the elements in the expanded swatch. Make sure not to change any of the un-filled and un-stroked elements. Once you have your colors changed, select all the elements and drag back into the Swatches panel. That's it! I wish there was a more simple way to do it, but this way isn't too bad. Let me know if that helped." Thanks Ryan!
