New Walk Museum Illustration

I was hired by the Leicester City Council to draw my own interpretation of the cover of the Ladybird Book on Florence Nightingale for the Wonderful World of the Ladybird Book Artists exhibition at the New Walk Museum in Leicester (July-September 2019).

As well as showing the incredible draftsmanship of the Ladybird book artists, the exhibition wanted to show to the younger audience that original illustration could be reinterpreted in a multitude of ways using a wide range of styles and techniques.

As well as depicting Florence Nightingale as a caring nurse I used a modern colour palette to show her as a woman ahead of her time.
