McLaren Neuromodulation project - Charger Prototype

Stage 02 Charger prototype. Physical Prototypes helped us to have an understanding of actual proportions as well as allowing users to interact with something real during tests. It also allowed to test iconography using real sizes, LED colours and whatnot, giving us a chance to test behaviours around readability, contrast, affordance, etc.

Finally prototypes also helped on dealing with requirements regarding legislation and standards. Materials, colours, mechanisms. All had to be set accordingly to legal safety and health regulations (mainly FDA but also European ones).

It was a great work of collaboration between UI design and Industrial Design in order to deliver the most efficient and most consistent experience as possible.
