NoMad Hotel New York Wedding Invitations

My brother and his (now) wife asked me to illustrate and design their wedding invitations. They wanted to showcase the venue (the Nomad Hotel in NYC), the city, and showcase the casual vibe of the celebration, with just a touch of class. We agreed on letterpress black ink on white canvas, with gold foil as a highlight. I didn't love the heading type choice (I preferred either the same font as the body or a more solid Modern style, as I felt the illustration already had enough sketched quality), but wasn't going to fight them on it :) In the end, they were really happy with how everything turned out, which is what mattered.

I started with pen and ink sketches that I scanned in and digitized into vector images. I later used Copic markers to add full color to the original illustrations and gifted the framed prints to them.
