Sharing a folder

My team has been using Sharepoint over the last year and while there are lots of nice things about it, I once noticed how confusing the share menu is within the Sharepoint web app.

The challenges I faced with it as a user were:
1. There were too many text fields upfront. A user doesn’t need to see an option field like “Add a message” unless they’ve decided they want enter an email address.
2. Secondary information was interfering with primary informationThe first thing a user wants to do is select the method of sharing or the person(s) they want to share to. Showing a permissions button “People in Lutron with link can view” up-top often got me confused.

In the above design, I’ve tried to tackle these problems by showing information contextually and adjusting the layout to surface primary information, such as the methods of sharing.
