final birth announcement!

I had a son! I started the illustration in September when this idea popped into my head for an announcement. Though the knight and horse didn't change much, i spent most of the time working on the Castle, village, and background sunset, ditching early colors, textures and gradients to end up with the simple and flat approach I arrived at.

The influences are far and wide - ranging between the obvious to obscure. Some of them include Chuck Jones, Dinsey's Sleeping Beauty, Wes Anderson, Invisible Creature, @DKNG, LEGO Castle & Kingdom sets and a friend's sunset instagram shots. oh yeah, and orange sherbet.

i made this poster size at 20x16 and plan to get it printed and framed soon to hang up on baby Benicio's wall.

I hope he digs it.
