Water Education Colorado Logo Design Process 1

The process of designing anything fascinates me. Distilling the entire essence of a brand or a company into a singular mark is one of the purest forms of design.

There's a bunch of discovery that goes into a new logo before pencil (or pen) ever hits the paper, but once that's done it's time to get to work. I usually start doodling incoherently in my sketchbook/notebook, alternating between a preference for pen or pencil. Pen is nice because you can start thinking at a high level about color variations, pencil is great because it simplifies the brainstorming process by removing those details.

Horses for courses.
