What Is Graphic Design?

This is a Saul Bass inspired design I created for a book cover assignment answering the question 'what is graphic design?'

The colours and shapes were inspired from the work of designer Saul Bass - examples of his work can be seen on posters and animations for many classic films such as 'Vertigo' by Alfred Hitchcock. The typography used is a font called 'Hitchcock'.
