Postcard & Postage Concept for The National WWII Museum

My mission was to create a new set of postcards to be sold within the gift shop of The National World War II Museum in New Orleans, Louisiana. I decided that this new set of cards should contain 4 full-sized postcards, or one for each major branch of the U.S. military (Air Corps, Marines, Navy & Army). Additionally, each postcard would be a visual representation of part of that service branch's participation in the war.

As a bonus touch, I also designed 4 USPS Forever postage stamps to be sold with the postcards, making the four sets of stamps and cards a collector's item type resale gift for the museum.. Each stamp was created in honor of and decorated with the likenesses of one U.S. Medal of Honor Winner from each of the aforementioned military branches.

This project took quite a bit of deserved research before coming together, but as history is one of my passions, and this is my very favorite non-art museum in the world, it was worth the time and effort.

These brave men who served with selflessness and true heroism still deserve to be remembered and honored today.
