Daily UI #098 - Advertisement

🤔 Thoughts 🤔

For today, I wanted to focus on an advertisement interaction as opposed to a literal ad.

This mockup would be my solution to an experience that I have found mildly frustrating recently. While I am watching Youtube videos, sometimes I feel “attacked” by an ad. I’ll be very invested in the content I am watching then all of a sudden, “BILLY MAYS HERE…” (rip Billy).

This component would act as an alert but also a button to skip the ad. I thought it would be interesting if the button could be skipped for 5 seconds, but then the add plays. This would be a slight twist on the ads that are skippable after 5 seconds.

Of course, the easy solution to ad bombardment is to utilize an ad blocker. However, I am a weirdo and I actually enjoy watching ads.
