Date select calendar

Recently, i am feeling very inspired by materials we interact with in everyday life, and the relationship we have with our physical world. I wanted to bring the sense of tactility we have with our fingers to objects in reality, and translate this into digital.

This fun animation is a calendar / date select component translated with this thinking. I was wanting to make sure the design was only showing users relevant information at any time, rather than trying to overwhelm them with rows, boxes and D/M/Y all in one .

I feel it could work nicely for dashboards (for domestic home appliances, or even for web). Looking forward to creating more components with this styling.

The concept of 'minimal skeuomorphism' is something i am really into at the moment. Very elegant.

Slightly 'idealistic'- as i am keen to see how 'accessibility' could inform this design... but i am looking forward to this challenge (whilst still aiming to retain the desired design language)
