Smart Building Dashboard

This was a concept design for a Smart Building dashboard that would allow a facility / building manager to get an overview of the smart products and sensors within the building.

Some of the theoretical problems to be solved:

1. How can a facility manager make use of this product if they are not near a desktop computer?
I.E) Out troubleshooting a problem in the facility.

Design Affordance: Deeplink to Mobile App
Design: Signifier: QR Code In header that can be scanned while on the go.

2. There could be potentially dozens of smart products and sensors. How might we help the user visualize these products in a consumable format.

Design Affordance: Locations can be assigned to smart devices giving them a location in the physical world.

Design Signifier: Provide a floorplan/blueprint of the building so the facility manager can quickly visualize a specific product based on the mental model developed of the physical building.

This was a cool challenge and was a unique opportunity to design a product that could bleed between the physical hardware and digital software spaces.
