Netflix TV App Concept: Remote Control Integration

If there is one enormously challenging thing than finding the other pair of your sock, it is to find your lost TV remote.

Wouldn’t it be fantastic if the Netflix TV app had a smartphone integration for remote control?

It would -literally- come in handy.

The current experience lets you use your mobile device to watch Netflix on your TV. However, there is a limit to how much control you can have on the phone over what is being mirrored on your TV screen. The idea is simply to turn your smartphone into a smarter remote control for Netflix without needing a third-party app or an electronic device.

With this integration, you could play, pause, change the audio/subtitles, skip forward and backward by ten seconds, skip episodes, switch to another show or movie that’s in your list, and adjust the volume without having to use the remote control that is more likely to have already gone missing!

📌 P.S.: Design-wise I have been influenced very largely by the Apple TV Remote, which I think offers a visually stunning design and is downright aesthetically pleasing.
