Daily UI #093 - Splash Screen

🤔 Thoughts 🤔
This was a nice learning challenge for me. Honestly, I haven’t designed a splash screen before, so I had to do some research before I got started. As with most UI/UX related searches, I came across a medium article detailing splash screen best practice.

After finishing the article, I realized I have unknowingly been making splash screen type animations for a while now. Just for fun.

I like dissecting logos and trying to imagine them in a 3D space. I find myself wondering how would they look if they were in motion, how would all the pieces come together? Animating a logo is also a great way to tell a deeper story and get people behind your ideas or products. Even a simple animation can make a huge difference in how your brand is perceived.

For the design itself, some people may recognize this logo if they been following my challenge progress. It is for a faux company, Shaper, which I created back on day one, and I have continued to add pieces to the design system here and there since.

With this animation, I wanted to capture the essence of the product in the user’s first interaction with the app. The general goal of the app is to promote positive mental health growth with exercise, mindfulness, and visualization, encouraging collaboration, support, and interaction between users. Some emotions I was trying to evoke here would be calming, peaceful, empowered, delighted, and relaxed.

I am very pleased with how this turned out, and I’m looking forward to the continued development of Shaper.
