Ekambi wins LaLiga's player of the month award after his goals guided Villarreal's Yellow Submarines to two wins.

The Villarreal hitman Karl Toko Ekambi has scooped the LaLiga Santander Player of the Month award for October. The Cameroonian scored three times, with his exploits in front of goal helping the Yellow Submarine to two league victories in October.

Ekambi struck the winner in his side's 1-0 away triumph Espanyol, before helping himself to a brace of goals in the home win over Deportivo Alaves.

He's now got five league goals and two assists to his name this season, making him a key team player at Estadio de la Cerámica.

27-year-old Ekambi will collect the monthly award in front of the Villarreal fans before their meeting with Celta Vigo at the conclusion of the international break on November 24th.
