Instagram Threads: Organize Your Feed

Today, active Instagram users are exposed to enormous amounts of heterogeneous content. While scrolling through the traditional feed in the app, one is viewing publications from many different accounts. Those posts vary in what topic they relate to, what mood they inspire and how important they currently are to the user. That way, the user's attention and thoughtflow are being constanty shifted from one thing to another, from one motif to a completely opposite one. Finally, most of what was seen simply gets forgotten or not taken full mental advantage of.

To tackle this issue, I've come up with an idea of Instagram Threads. A thread is a group of accounts (hashtags) sharing similar idea or topic.
Users are able to create new threads and quickly switch between them by long-pressing the feed icon of the tab bar. I've used one-letter-plus-color coding to distinguish between different threads.

I believe that Instagram Threads feature would allow for in-app time to be spent more consciously by letting users choose the type of content they would like to see at each moment they open the application.

Let me know what you think!
