If Rappers Had Logos™

I love rap & hip-hop music. Like most of the world, I'm enamored with the music, the culture, the collaborations... Everything but the logos.

The rap game's logo game is weak.

Today's rappers aren't only dominating the charts, they're molding culture around the globe - Yet, most rappers don't seem to have a consistent logo or branding system at all (Kendrick Lamar, Kanye, Drake). And if they do (Jay-Z, Eminem), their brand doesn't usually evoke the same attitude and personality as their music.

As a nerdy (white) graphic designer, these are the things that keep me up at night. So, over the past year or so, I've been trying to imagine what different rapper's logos should look like. Taking into account their personality, style, lyrics, existing collaborations / brands / business ventures... A fun little side project I tinker with while watching Netflix with the wife (and avoiding actual design work & responsibilities).

Should I do more? Are these whack? Should I keep my critical design nerd opinions to myself? Let me know! :)
