Augmented Reality in Future Social Networking

AR Moment is an experimental project that explores the future of human-machine interaction in social media. As augmented reality technologies have evolved rapidly, this project set out to illustrate the potential of AR in social networking. While the gaming industry has obviously gained a lot of attention in this field, for the most part, social media platforms have yet to leverage AR technologies to revolutionize the game. We believe AR can have profound success in that area, primarily because of its immersive nature. For end-users, the possibility of interacting in a semi-real digital world makes the experience significantly more engaging. On the other hand, for brands and advertising companies, the more immersive the experience is, the more likely it will be that it will translate into direct sales. In this project, we are imagining a future where interacting with people and our surroundings in a realistic setting.
