Self taught witch figuring out this whole "witchin" thing

I had an idea for a game where you play as a young witch that has to make potions and cast spells that you learn from old witch books. Catch is - they often are incomplete and sometimes even contradict each other. So you would have to cross reference sources, experiment and do the whole "scientific method" thing but for witch potions :D
