LMS Interface Illustration hero image evolution

Started off with something really simple before I knew anything about design and over the months it progressed to something really neat and clear. It is hard to create an memorable illustration of software. I've been on so many websites that have abstract illustrations of people on ladders interacting with floating computers in space, and I didn't want that for my company. I wanted the illustration to be a minimalist but accurate representation of the our platform, which is for online learning.

Users build courses and deliver exams through our platform, and the system shows users their progress and makes suggestions into how to improve. In the first version of this design I was desperate to get across that the platform could be branded and customised, as time went on and the platform developed I realised this wasn't the most important thing about it. By the time I got to the most recent version I was focused on the getting across the learning and insights.
