Herzog Brass Menu

Proudly introducing one of my fanciest projects, yet: The new luxurious menus for @herzog.muc . As Herzog is probably Munich’s most innovative and without a doubt one of its fanciest places, featuring lots of custom designed brass decor and lamps, the menus had to be in a dialog with this marvellous interior design and architecture. . We designed a set of two menus, consisting of a small drink menu with Japanese binding, French folds and two different papers in black and white to separate the three categories not just visually but also in a tactile way. Non alcoholics and wines are printed on 170 g/m² Gmund Colors Felt White paper and the spirit library containing all the hard alcohol was printed digitally in white on Gmund Bauhaus Black - 250 g/m² paper for a better readability at night. . The crown jewel of this project, remains to be the large A3 sized menu. Based on the clients wish, to have their unique brass lamp design reflected in the design, we chose to make a bold statement by doing the seemingly impossible and incorporating real, super thin brass sheets into the design. Invisibly attached to the top of the carefully polished and varnished brass, is the food and cocktail menu, in a sleek style with modern 1920’s inspired frames. Both menu versions are hot foil embossed in gold and bound in fine black book cloth. . A set of two marvellous menus for a marvellous venue. Handcrafted in Bavaria with @gmundpaper by Denis Widmann Design Studio for Herzog with Love.
