The Indonesian government for the first time printed and inaugurated the first Republic of Indonesia banknotes known as Oeang Republik Indonesia (ORI). ORI was only issued after Indonesia gained independence for one year and two months. On October 30, 1946, ORI officially circulated in Indonesia.
