ATP Mobile App : Search (Players)

The search feature on the existing site is the least effective when it comes to navigating player profiles. A simple search for a popular player can lend itself to numerous profiles of players whom have similar character placements in their name but are inactive (no longer playing on the circuit).

Main Paintpoints:

- User gets easily lost while searching
- Errors in spelling are unforgiving for complex player names.
- There are two search components on any given page, but only one works.

User Testing Findings

- Most users gave up using the existing search feature and just googled the players name.
- One user suggested utilizing a mobile phones built in microphone as a means to search instead of typing.
- All users misspelled the players last name.
- Sub navigation in the new design was distracting during the user test.
- All users expressed delight in utilizing the new design, expressing how much easier and faster it was.
