Serpent deity

I was commissioned to portray a serpent deity. The idea behind the legend I based my work on got me interested enough to do my own research, but to make long story short:
There was a cosmic horror narrative that considered gods like Apophis and Jörmungandr as natural forces, rather than pure evil beings. Emphasis was put on the description of the vastness of such deities, the gods and space being one, eternity and infinity. Basically the questions were - how would something born from the stars look like? And how would the awareness of such uncanny creatures make people feel about the significance of their own existence?
