Web App Concept

I would like to share with you first iteration of a concept for new webapp I am designing. What do you think? My focus was on color pallete. Does it work?

I noticed a big trend of "no gradient, no shadow" metro like style. I think it has its place, but I also think that meaningful shadows and gradients have a rightful place in UI design (because of affordancy etc.). So this is my take on this new trend ...
