Find Attractions in New York City
NYC is a place very close to my heart. Even though I've lived in Rochester for the last two years, I spent a lot of my best memories in Manhattan and I feel like its closer to my home than any other place on the planet.
I designed this interface for the target user who's coming to NYC for the very first time. I didn't want their initial impressions to be sterile so I used three very different colors to highlight categories of things a 'New New Yorker' can do. This creates a very warm yet exciting feeling and resonates with what NY stands for which is 'Excitement'.
NYC is known for a lot of shows and concerts and I wanted to highlight that in this shot. I used the backdrop of Carnegie Hall to represent what NYC has to offer in terms of entertainment.
The 'Swipe Left' signifier is important because a user may not know what sort of interaction is needed to cycle through the options (as per feedback from previous designs).
The navigation is pretty straightforward, but I wanted to keep the user excited throughout the entire flow so I used a combination of vectors and images to build that excitement in the user.
Overall, this design experience was amazing. I wanted to do something for NY and this is dedicated to the greatest city on the planet or as Harvey Specter would say, 'THE City'
