Posters for Parks 2019: Harriet's Song

I decided to do something a little different for this years Posters for Parks show. I thought it was different from what I normally do but who knows to be honest. Sometimes I laugh at designers online who said they tried something in a "new" style and it just looks like everything else they've made. Maybe I went with a different subject matter than I normally do.

I combine an "art nouveau" or Mucca-esque female with an Art Deco surrounding. Im fascinated by the two styles and the evolution of the one to the other. Strict geometry and organic lines. Seemed like a great metaphor for Minneapolis and its surrounding beauty both man and nature made.
